History of the brand
The destiny brought the two great masters of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, almost thirty years ago, in 1982, in a small studio at work in Milan. Bright colors and predacious colourings are not not only a distinguishing features of the brand Dolce & Gabbana, but also its brand name. Their works have always differed from mass trends. The last collections of Dolce & Gabbana provided an abundance of expensive fabrics and luxury accessories. They highlight on printed or embroidered fabrics with classic easily recognizable motifs – from the Renaissance to the present. In parallel with the women’s clothing line, jewelry and perfume since 1990 they began to launch a line for men – perfume, accessories, clothing and household items.
Dolce & Gabbana fine jewellery collection reflects traditional Italian handicrafts and iconography. The brand’s signature understanding and reinterpreting of traditional iconography, as well as fabrics and silhouettes, is embodied in fine jewellery collections.
Their jewellery collections cover different themes, all close to the Dolce & Gabbana DNA and the designers’ traditions and loves. The theme of Confession, which comprises the jewellery that resembles Rosaries and Devotion includes the jewellery adorned with the images of the Virgin Mary. The Love theme, of course, is made up of the heart shaped charms, while the Family theme comprises secular icons, like the horseshoe and the four leaf clover. And finally the Sicily theme, which comprises elements of all four of the other subfamilies, symbolising how in Sicily, devotion, confession, love and family are all rolled into one.

A statement of faith, a wave of passion, or a celebration of love: the most precious feature of any jewel is the emotion it stirs in the woman who wears it. For their first ever jewellery collection, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have combined the most exquisite materials – tri-colour gold, rubies, sapphires and pearls – with the most significant symbols at their disposal.
The majesty of Baroque
For Dolce & Gabbana’s first jewellery collection, Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have created a collection which speaks of everything: faith, passion and love. Rooted in Sicilian tradition, the 80-piece range takes inspiration from religious iconography and features jewelled crosses, jade rosaries and delicate filigree ceramic icons of the Madonna suspended in Byzantine chains.
It could be described as the architectural and spiritual history of Sicily, translated into a very special artform; from another point of view, it is simply Dolce & Gabbana’s latest adventure in style and design, their first ever jewellery collection. Like their garments, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s jewellery was inspired by Italy’s colourful south. Moreover, in their collection was used a rare filigree technique which makes the pieces look more sophisticated by soldering tiny beads together or to the surface of an object of the same metal and arrange it in artistic motifs.
This magnificent collection majestically combines exquisite gems and Italian craftsmanship, in pieces featuring an intricate series of spirals, a part of Sicilian decoration since time immemorial. Delicately-painted ceramic brooches depict leaves and flowers, which also appear in gold of different colours.

To create this unusual and rich collection, Dolche & Gabbana were inspired by the spirit of rural Italy of the 50s. In their interviews, they say that these jewelry pieces are designed primarily for women, spending summer at their villas in the countryside. It is better to wear them with light dresses, long skirts and short tops. Many girls also love to combine fruit bracelets with pictures of the same fruit on the nails or prints on the shirt. It looks very juicy and attractive.

To create this colourful collection Dolce & Gabbana have set aside their traditional stones (rubies, onyx, dark sapphires and tanzianites) and have embraced the brighter hues of coloured sapphires, amethysts, citrines, peridot and aquamarine. Flowers in blossom show the tribute to spring.

The other pieces are fabulously hued and while they are marketed as coloured engagement rings, all would work just as well as cocktail rings.

The crown symbol was chosen because of its association with triumphant Roman generals in the past, heroes of Olympic games and priests. It symbolises both temporal and religious power, and the fact that the crown is still worn by monarchs and the highest ecclesiastical authorities during majestic celebrations and important ceremonies. The crown is also widely used in the clothing collection. Being an emblem of fame, excellence and power, the crown was chosen because of the iconography of Dolce & Gabbana.
