Style silhouettes of the 20s tend to direct and strict shapes that emphasize the fragile female figure, offsetting a simple form with a complex cut and fanciful adornments. These jewelry are perfect for a luxurious atmosphere of the restaurant, where musician plays the piano, where candles lit in a gently flickering, where exude a pleasant scent of incense sticks and handsome men are slowly circling in the dance of their chosen ones in luxurious stylish outfits and outstanding jewelry items. This is the style of the acclaimed film “The Great Gatsby”. And perhaps many people will agree that this is one of the most beautiful decades.
This is a style of leisure, so it will unlikely be appropriate in the workplace. Although in the theater or on the perfomance, a wedding or a party in the style of the 20’s ii will be good choice. It would appear like a loud statement about the presence of impeccable taste and the desire to go through the most bright and vivid impressions. Recently, one of our subscribers wrote to me that it would be greatly to return this style in modern fashion. Well, I would not mind it as well. I love the unusual nature in clothing. But even my strange passions are elegant and tasteful. So today I choose the 20s jewelry.

20s are for massiveness
Also the “Age of Jazz” is associated with massive necklaces and enormous earrings. The more fantasy appears is their design – the better. The most striking feature of the “roaring twenties” era, or rather, evening fashion of that time it is, of course, precious stone. Jewelry in “The Great Gatsby” by Baz Luhrmann pull the viewer’s attention more than anything. Daisy’s rings appear in the movie earlier than she does. 20s jewelry main innovation: Art Deco
At the same time there appeared a separate line in the fashion world, and namely – Art Deco. It was based on cultures of different countries and folks. Since 1925, fashion has completely settled jewelry in the style of “Art Deco”, wherein appeared the preponderance combination of geometric shapes, dynamic lines and open colors. Flat bracelets, long, sometimes up to the knee, beads, squares and triangles in brooches replaced the intricate Art Nouveau 20s jewelry. Covered with meandering patterns of plant ornaments, images of butterflies and dragonflies, lizards and chimeric animals jewelry items dissapeared. Lots of critics of that times called this style the complete opposite of glamor. Even something too pretentious and totally devoid of femininity.

20s can’t be 20s without brooches
Brooches were also one of the most important attributes. Because without them none of the hats has appeared enough fashionable. And everything was rather strictly there – if the hat had bright colors, the brooch should not be too pretentious. But if the hat had ornaments and patterns – the brooch should be small and preferably geometrical. Everyone was afraid of accusations of kitsch. So every fashionista paid a special attention to jewelry items. Not every woman found the courage to wear something insufficiently glittering, or even far worse, too bright.
Style of 20s was truly full of brilliance: it comes not only from the jewelry, but also in dresses, accessories and shoes. Shining gems side by side with accessories made of fur and feathers, dresses made of silk and satin, embroidered with sequins and metallic colors.
